Why I love couture...and why they are so expensive...

Ah..Haute couture...One of my favourite branches of fashion..But why? Why am I so drawn to Haute? My reasons probably explain why most outfits from Couture royalty cost at least $10 000...Check out these pics and I will tell you why...See more pictures here.

The magic of Haute Couture is its flamboyance...almost as if designers use what is usually used almost minimally in outfits to the excess. However, when it come to Haute Couture, excess isn't bad or horrifying. For example the ruffled sleeves in this Chanel creation.

Patient detail. Most of the additions on Haute Couture outfits are handsewn, hence it's 5 figure price. But I feel like each flower is sewn in with care and love which makes the dress even more beautiful. This is by Ellie Saab.
Tålmodigt detajl. Tillbehör är sytt för hand. Därför Haute Couture utsyrsel är mycket mycket mycket dyr. Men per blomma är sytt med omsorg som gör skapelser mera vacker tycker jag. Dräkt av Ellie Saab.
