I just read a book, Desert FLower, written by Somali born supermodel, Waris Dirie. An inspiring story I must say. It tells readers the story of Waris' life before becoming a model; her childhood circumsicion, running away from an arranged marriage at 12 and living illegally in London and surviving by cleaning floors in McDonalds. The book gives a view of hardship in Somalia, the not-so-glamour-after-all life as a model and the strength that a woman who was born into a Somalian nomadic tribe. Definitely a read!

En berättar oss om sin omskärelse, rymmande hemifrån vid 12 års ålder på grund av ett arrangerade bröllop och boende olagligt i London. Boken skänker en förestallning av umbäranden i Somalia, den inte-mycket-glämoros fotomodells liv och strykan att en knivva från Somalia. Boken är mycket bra!
